Roderick of Texas Floral was started in 1999 after I moved back home to Lufkin.  I initially tried to work in other floral shops, but try as I may, I did not find the challenge and contentment that I needed.  I have my own individual style and opinions on the floral industry.  I'm not into the "Mom and Pop" flower shop scene.

I began in this business at the age of 17, here in Lufkin.  I spent several years designing in Houston, at which time my funeral arrangements were published in "Forbes."  Later I spent 13 years in Highland Park, Dallas doing society weddings and parties.  During this time my shop was in "Who's Who Dallas" several times. 

As you may have guessed by now, I am into upscale floral design.  I can get people to say, "That's so pretty!" all day long........I want to hear "OMG, look at that!"  Then, and only then do I feel like I accomplished something.
